THE SPECTACULAR AND BENCHMARK

Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival is the first event in Indonesia to start at YIA International Airport, and it is also the first bicycle race held in the Gunung Gajah area. It will attract participants and also serve as branding.

In celebration of Kulon Progo Regency's 74th Anniversary, a sports and tourism event is being held that combines natural beauty, culture, and sportsmanship.

The Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025 will bring together cyclists from various regions and countries to enjoy challenging yet captivating routes, traversing the stunning natural landscapes of Kulon Progo, including the picturesque Menoreh hills, vast rice fields, and the allure of the southern coastline.

Apart from various types of bicycle races and fun rides, the festival will also feature various supporting activities, such as art exhibitions, culinary delights from Kulon Progo MSMEs, cultural performances, and lively entertainment stages.

GENERAL RULES

All questions and rules:

Participants must be present at the start location at YIA Airport, Kulon Progo 1 hour before the start (5 AM).

Race Categories

  • Man Elite : Atlit, Ex Atlit & Non Atlit (19-34)
  • Man Master A : Non Atlit (35-45)
  • Man Master B : Non Atlit (46up)
  • Women Open : Non Atlit (17-35)
  • Women Master : Non Atlit (36up)

Participants of the Master A, Master B, Woman Open, and Woman Master KOM/QOM categories in the Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025 must be hobbyists (beginners).

Professional cyclists or former professional cyclists are prohibited from participating in the KOM/QOM race

Participants of the Master A, Master B, Woman Open, and Woman Master KOM/QOM categories in the Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025 must be hobbyists (beginners).

The organizing committee will announce the names of race participants at the booth during Race Pack Collection

Participants who wish to file a protest regarding any individual suspected of being a professional or former professional cyclist must do so no later than one day before the event (H-1).

The protesting party must provide strong and valid evidence to prove that the individual in question is indeed a professional or former professional cyclist

If the evidence is deemed strong and valid, the committee will disqualify the individual from participating in the KOM/QOM race of the Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025

Protests submitted after the event has started or is in progress will be rejected by the committee.

Special Rules for Roadbike Race KOM

1. All decisions of the committee are final and cannot be contested. The committee also reserves the right to make regulatory changes if necessary.

2. Roadbike Race KOM participants must be at least 19 years old at the time of the 'Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025'.

3. Participants must register online via the website https://kulonprogointernationalcyclingfest.com/ by completing their personal information, including an active email, full name, date, month, and year of birth. The form provided must be filled out and accompanied by an original ID/Passport and a recent photo.

4. Participants are responsible for the accuracy of the personal data submitted in the registration form, and the committee reserves the right to request additional documents if the information is deemed incomplete or inaccurate.

5. If a participant is absent from the event, the organizer will not refund the registration fee.

6. The bicycle used must be a regular road bike with drop bars, without a motor/e-bike, and equipped with two functioning brakes (front and rear).

7. Participants must wear a safety helmet throughout the Kulon Progo International Cycling Festival 2025.

8. All participants must wear the jersey and race pack provided by the committee. Wearing jerseys or identification outside of those provided is prohibited. Participants not wearing the official jersey and race pack will not be allowed to join the event.

9. Participants must properly attach their race number and bike number according to competition regulations. Any errors causing the number not to be recorded at the finish line camera are the sole responsibility of the participant.

10. If the race pack (jersey, race number, and bike number) is used by someone other than the registered participant, both the registrant and the user will be disqualified from the race.

11. The neutralized start speed will be determined/guided by the commissaire.

12. All participants must join the big ride, starting from Yogyakarta International Airport Kulon Progo on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Any participant found loading their bike onto a vehicle, either evacuation or private, will be considered DNF (Did Not Finish) and ineligible for victory or a finisher medal.

13. If a rider experiences a mechanical problem during the neutralized start, it will be considered a normal race incident, and the start will proceed as usual.

14. The real start will be conducted as a flying start (without stopping).

15. Riders who start early (jump start) before their group’s flag-off at the KOM or QOM start line will be disqualified.

16. The start order will follow race categories: Men Elite, Master A, Master B, Women Open, and Women Master.

17. There will be no escort or personal support from officials for participants.

18. Riders may collect refreshments or supplies themselves in the designated feeding zones and water stations provided by the committee.

19. Dangerous maneuvers during sprints are prohibited, as they may endanger other riders.

20. Sanctions for violations will be decided by the Commissaire Panel, ranging from relegation to disqualification.

21. Winners are the participants who finish in 1st to 3rd place. Winners must present original personal identification documents (ID/Passport).

22. Winners are determined by their finishing order at the finish line.

23. In case of force majeure that causes the race to be stopped, the points or winners will be decided by the commissaire team.

24. Race results will be announced 10 minutes before the winners’ award ceremony (UPP). Protests may be submitted during this time only and will not be accepted afterward.

25. Winners must attend the UPP (winners’ award ceremony) in person and may not be represented. They must wear the official event jersey according to their race category, wear shoes, and are prohibited from bringing bicycles onto the stage unless specifically permitted by the commissaire team and organizers.

26. Protests must be submitted in writing with supporting evidence and accompanied by a deposit of IDR 1,000,000 (one million rupiah). If the protest is accepted, the deposit will be refunded. If rejected, the deposit will belong to the committee.

27. Participants must comply with all race rules established by the organizers and commissaire.

28. Other provisions not listed in these regulations will be further notified by the organizer/committee via email or other media.
